Rajasthan Budget 2018-19: From farmers, women to youth, Vasundhara Raje woos all before Assembly polls

Rajasthan Budget 2018-19 LIVE: Vasundhara Raje government is presenting its last Budget today. The state is expected to go to polls in November-December this year and the ruling BJP is bracing up for a tough fight from the opposition Congress. The BJP recently suffered humiliation at the hands of the Congress in recently-held by-polls to two Lok Sabha (Ajmer and Alwar) and an Assembly constituency (Mandalgarh.

In the last budget presented in March 2017, the state government had announced several pro-people measures, including the decision to slash the stamp duty from 5 to 3 percent and the registration fees from 1 to 0.25 percent on the partition deeds of properties other than the ancestral ones. Raje had then also stipulated that the reduction in the registration fees would be a maximum to Rs 10,000. The Budget 2018 was expected to be high on populism.

2.03 pm: Raje also said that as many as 7 lakh new electricity connections will be provided in the state.

2.02 pm: A new stadium to be constructed in Neem Ka Thana while a fund of Rs 5 crore has veen approved for Jagatpura shooting range development.

2.01pm: Jobs: As many as 77,000 vacancies in education department to be filled, says Raje. RPSC examinees to get free bus travel in state government’s buses.

1.59 pm: Primary school children to get milk on three days in a week.

1.57 pm: Raje announced that the government ITI’s will be connected to Digital India scheme of the Centre.

1.51 pm: Agriculture universities will be set up in Kota and Alwar.

1.50 pm: 500 Madrassas to benefit from Adarsh Madrassa Yojana at a cost of around Rs 25 crore, says Raje.

1.48 pm: The CM said an Ambedkar Bhavan will be set up in each municipality area of the state.

1.46 pm: Raje said no new tax has been introduced. With this common citizens have been given a relief of Rs 650 crore.

1.29 pm: Raje announces Bhairon Singh Shekhawat Antyodaya Rojgar Yojana.

1.26 pm: Nandi Gaushala to be started in every district of the state.

1.25 pm: 2000 girl students to get scooties if they get 85% marks in class 12. Raje also said that money provided to Adarsh Schools will be increased.

1.24 pm: Raje said new training programmes for women will be started in 14 ITIs.

1.04 pm: Raje has announced 10% cut in DLC rates.

12.52 pm: Raje announces to waive off land tax, reduce stamp duty and land registration fees.

12.50 pm: Raje announces interest-free loans of Rs 25 lakh to journalists. She also announces Camera Insurance scheme for photojournalists and videojournalists.

12.47 pm: Raje announces to set up Rajasthan Vyapari Kalyan Board.

12.36 pm: Raje says Aamer will be developed as “Iconic Tourism Destination” of the state.

12.35 pm: Raje says as many as 2000 news Patwaris will be appointed in the state.

12.34 pm: Raje says there will be an Annapurna Rasoi in every district collector office of the state. By March 2018, all 500 Annapurna Rasoi Vans would become operational, says Raje.

12.26 pm:  For the benefit of sporting talent in the state, Raje announces ‘Youth Icon Scheme’ in Rajasthan.

12.24 pm: Raje announces to start women wings in 24 ITIs of the state.

12.22 pm: “I do better than someone else, how does it matter? I do better for someone, a lot matters,” Raje quips.

12.19 pm: Big relief for farmers! Raje announces a one-time loan waiver of up to Rs 50,000 for small and marginal farmers in Rajasthan, which would cost Rs 8,000 crore to the exchequer. Raje also announced setting up a farmer loan relief commission where farmers can approach and present their side for getting relief on merit basis.

12.14 pm: Good news for Kamlesh Nagarkoti! Raje announces Rs 25 lakh cash reward for India’s U-19 World Cup cricket champion Kamlesh Nagarkoti. He has been awarded this for excellent performance in the recently concluded World Cup which India won by thrashing countries like Australia and Pakistan.

12.11 pm: As many as 9000 “second-grade” teachers to appointed, says FM Raje.

12.10 pm: As many as 54000 “third-grade” teachers to be an appointed in Rajasthan, says Raje.

12.09 pm: Raje says the number of admission to government schools has increased by 12 lakh.

12.08 pm: 1000 new Annapurna Bhandar to be started in Rajasthan, says CM Raje.

12.05 pm: Raje announces to open 28 Public Health Centres in the state.

12.03 pm: Vasundhara Raje government has announced to increase the honorarium of Anganwadi workers and other Honorarium workers. The decision will benefit around 1 lakh 84 thousand Anganwadi workers and honorarium workers, says Raje.

11.57 am: Good news for elderly people! Raje announces free bus travel to people above 80 years of age.

11.56 am: According to Raje, as many as 13 lakh job opportunities in the state has been created by her government.

11.54 am: Raje says the BJP government made the dream of Barmer refinery into a reality. The refinery was recently inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

11.52 am: In the budget speech, Raje said that the BJP government has directly communicated with 2 lakh farmers under the ‘Gram Rajasthan’ programme.

11.51 am: The state government has announced to set a mini plant for processing an distribution of camel milk in Jaipur.

11.48 am: Raje has promised to build 15 kilometres of new roads in all 200 constituencies of the poll-bound states.
